about

Phorusrhacos, the second single from upcoming album Archaeopteryx, is named after a giant carnivorous flightless “terror bird” of South America, which lived between 62 and 0.1million years ago. It blends string quartet with buzzing synthesizers in a rhythmic stampede, in equal parts graceful and terrifying.

MJ O’Neill’s remix on the B Side imagines our flightless terror bird finally taking off. It drags Nonsemble’s strings and keys onto the floor with a belter of a beat and the words “Okay, Ms Dinosaur, Today we fly”.
